Week 6: The Yellow Violet House… February 10, 2010

…is not a dwelling place, literally speaking but it houses a lot of yummy goodness, paper-craft wise. The Yellow Violet House is one of our local scrapbooking stores (LSS) where you can find great scrapbooking stuff, creative hand-made cards, most sought-after tools like sizzix, cuttlebug, big shot and its die-cuts, zutter, dreamkutz, among others. Aside from being an online store, you can visit them at their Vista Verde store and their branch at Sta Lucia East Mall

I’m glad to share that I’m this month’s GDT. I enjoyed making these pages for Isabel, the gracious lady behind, or shall I say, inside The Yellow Violet House.

Here’s the first layout I made for this year.    This was supposed to be my last layout for 2009 but I got stumped and was just able to stare at it  for the whole day during my scrappy-friends ‘ Christmas get-together.   I  was able to finish only 3 so far, 2 page-short of my goal but I’m sure I’ll catch up ;o)

Week 4: Believe February 1, 2010

When I feel down or worried or hopeless…Or when I feel that my dreams are still too impossible to come true…Or when what I expected just didn’t happen. I just often tell myself that everything will be alright in the end. I just have to continue dreaming, keep on believing and holding on to my faith. I just have to remember that God has wonderful plans for us and that God is good, all the time!

Journal: I just have to believe and with God’s help and my family’s support, my dreams will come true!

Materials Used: Paper-DCWV, Kaisercraft, Love Elsie, MME, Prima, Urban Lily, SEI; Stamp-StampinUp French script, AL journaling; Others-Fancy Pants felt shape, MM metal, magic mesh, local ribbons, laces and paper clip, colorbox white ink, Ranger’s stickles

This layout is my take on Dotty Divas’ Challenge 6. It’s a cute ad so check it out and submit your take on it. You have until February 5 to have a chance to win a Cosmo Cricket pack! Yummylicious!

Week 3: Meeting Mickey February 1, 2010

Last January 17, my parents, Gaby and I went to the happiest place on earth in Hong Kong to have magical time with Mickey and Friends. It was my parents’ post 7th birthday gift to Gaby, their eldest grandchild. Yes, it was a 2-year delay but the wait was so worth it! We had the blast watching all the shows, meeting some of the Disney characters, hopping from one ride to the next for 2 consecutive days! I brought my reliable point & shoot camera and it was able to shoot 500++ good and not so good ones. Nevertheless, the memories of the time we spent there will remain vivid in our hearts. Moreso with the scrapbook album I’ll make (hopefully, it won’t be a project-in-the-making for years hehehe…wish me luck).

We will go back, I’m sure! Alexa should experience the same magic as we did! Right, Mom and Dad?

Week 1: HERO January 12, 2010

Last Tuesday, January 5,  I had an opportunity to meet and have a photo-op with a hero who changed the lives of so many… Mr. Efren Penaflorida, the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year.   He’s so charming and very accommodating!  Konting ligo na lang para na syang si Papa P.  (Piolo Pascual)…to which one of my officemates vehemently disagreed!    But still, I stand on my conviction because it’s his heart, his mission and what he has done that makes him cute and handsome like Piolo!   May he touch more lives, encourage more youth to value education and inspire a lot to do something good!

Project 365? How about Project 52 instead… January 7, 2010

What is Project 365 anyway? Browsed through the net and found this description from http://365project.org:

“The 365 project aims to collect photos documenting 1 year of your life. We want to build a picture of the little day to day things that make your life so special and unique. Everyone can take part and join in! All you need is a camera. “

Some of my friends are doing Project 365. But I don’t think I can do it everyday so instead, I’ll make it Project 52. I don’t intend to have photos only (I might still forget to take some shots, you know) so I’ll twist it a bit and make sure it’s a weekly blog entry, or scrapbook layout/s or both! It’ll make me diligent in updating this blog *cross fingers* and to push me to finish at least one lay-out a week!

So, good luck to me! I encourage you to start the same project too. It’s not yet too late! It’ll make us more appreciative of what life brings us this 2010…good or bad…big or small!

Happy Christmas everyone! December 24, 2009
