Week 8-Nikki Sivils Day!

The Adobo girls, as we call ourselves (a group of talented ladies who get together once in a while to scrap, chat and eat the day away) had a blast last Saturday, February 20. Ria, one of the awesome DT members of Nikki Sivils let us devour her 2009 stash to use ala scrap buffet (thanks to Studio Azul for the concept!) while she worked on the NEW CHA released products. The food was just great courtesy of Dinah and Iris, who are celebrating their birthdays this month. Additional yummy food and desserts were laid courtesy of our host, Ria! It was really a productive day and everybody was so eager to finish more than 1 page! I finished 3, would you believe! I used mostly the cute and beautiful materials of Nikki Sivils in my pages! Love ’em!

Week 7: Music & my Gaby!

Music defies boundaries…it unites! It doesn’t choose race, age nor gender. It’s an expression of the heart and the soul…it can breathe on its own and has its own power!

My eldest has succumbed to its power! She loves and appreciates it as early as when she was a toddler! One of her favorite toys was a guitar. She has been bugging me to let her study guitar for years (but I haven’t given in ;o) She can easily memorize the lyrics of a song in a snap and can sing in tune too! If she can listen to her favorite songs 24/7, she would! She would listen to a new song from her favorite singer repeatedly for a week or so and would sing along with passion! Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Jonas’ Brothers and the cast of High School Musical — better sing “good” songs, you just don’t know how you can influence the world!!!

Anyway, I’m glad I’m able to document Gaby’s appreciation of music in her tween through Dotty Divas’ 2nd advert challenge for February.

I’m so happy with how this turned out! (Got the concept and “kaartehan” of the photo from my bff.  I’m glad my daughter indulged to tilt her head like that while she was listening to her MP4 which she got as a souvenir from our recent trip to HK ;o) :

Journal: (Be Carefree; Listen to your heart; Enjoy the simple things in life; Just be Yourself; Be Happy)…I WILL…I AM…through my music!

Materials Used: Papers-Making Memories, Chatterbox, DCWV, Cosmo Cricket, Urban Lily, WeRMK; Chipboards-Scrapworks bracket, AC thickers; Others-Magic mesh, MM photo turns & mini brads. Jenny Bowlin Bingo card, rub-ons.

Exciting goodies await you so better take on the challenge and submit it to Dotty Divas’ owner Katy at on or before February 28.

Happy Blog-o-versary!

Yes, I survived the first year!!!

Yes, I’m a late bloomer in the world of blogging but hey, I’m so grateful I succumbed and joined-in the force!

Yes, I’m so happy I was not a slacker!!! No, not at all, right? I was so afraid that I wouldn’t be able to maintain this and share something at least monthly, but who would have thought I could do it every week (or 2) ;o )

And yes, I’m surprised to have “views”/visitors everyday ;o)

Thank you to all who made time to visit my blog and even left some love throughout this year! I really appreciate them and get thrilled every time you let me know you were here *sniff*! I hope I was able to inspire and entertain you in my own little way.

Here’s to a more creative and exciting year for me and you! Happy Chinese New Year too! And I hope you had a romantic and love-full Valentines day!

Week 6: The Yellow Violet House…

…is not a dwelling place, literally speaking but it houses a lot of yummy goodness, paper-craft wise. The Yellow Violet House is one of our local scrapbooking stores (LSS) where you can find great scrapbooking stuff, creative hand-made cards, most sought-after tools like sizzix, cuttlebug, big shot and its die-cuts, zutter, dreamkutz, among others. Aside from being an online store, you can visit them at their Vista Verde store and their branch at Sta Lucia East Mall

I’m glad to share that I’m this month’s GDT. I enjoyed making these pages for Isabel, the gracious lady behind, or shall I say, inside The Yellow Violet House.

This is a layout with a photo of Isabel's Mom with her granddaughters...

Isabel's nieces...

Till next time, Isabel.  Thanks for the opportunity!

First for 2010

Here’s the first layout I made for this year. This was supposed to be my last layout for 2009 but I got stumped and was just able to stare at it the whole day during my scrappy-friends ‘ Christmas get-together. I was able to finish only 3 so far, 2 page-short of my goal but I’m sure I’ll catch up ;o)

Journal:  Alexa, you’re the miracle we’ve been waiting for for seven years.  We love you!

Materials Used:  Paper: DCWV, BG, Cosmo Cricket, KI Mem; Flowers-Prima, Imaginesce; Embellishments: Fancy Pants Felt shapes & ribbon, MME title tag,  MM journalling note, brads, bling, metal tag photo turn, local blings & fibers, Doodlebug paper ribbon,  BG rub-ons, Magic Mesh & AL button.

Week 4: Believe

When I feel down or worried or hopeless…Or when I feel that my dreams are still too impossible to come true…Or when what I expected just didn’t happen. I just often tell myself that everything will be alright in the end. I just have to continue dreaming, keep on believing and holding on to my faith. I just have to remember that God has wonderful plans for us and that God is good, all the time!

Journal: I just have to believe and with God’s help and my family’s support, my dreams will come true!

Materials Used: Paper-DCWV, Kaisercraft, Love Elsie, MME, Prima, Urban Lily, SEI; Stamp-StampinUp French script, AL journaling; Others-Fancy Pants felt shape, MM metal, magic mesh, local ribbons, laces and paper clip, colorbox white ink, Ranger’s stickles

This layout is my take on Dotty Divas’ Challenge 6. It’s a cute ad so check it out and submit your take on it. You have until February 5 to have a chance to win a Cosmo Cricket pack! Yummylicious!
