Supermodel Material?!?

Standard

Flashback from 2006….

I was so giddy happy when someone from Smart Parenting called to tell me that Gaby was chosen to be included in the photo shoot of one of their featured articles.   It was a first-time for the both of us (Gaby as the model and I, as the stagemom…hehehe)!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw my good friends, Mia with daughter Nadine & Ria with son Luis,  in the studio. Talk about coincidence!  These kids were all called to do the photo shoot.    Yipee, it was like a playdate for us and I was sure it’ll be easy to supervise and cajole them to cooperate.   Boy, was I wrong!  Gaby was ok  shooting the first scene which was finished for an hour or so.  After this, all hell broke loose (oh well, for Gaby, that is).  I think it took a toll on her (and hirap kaya mag-pose ng paulit-ulit) and she refused to join the rest of the scenes.  She threw a major tantrum and cried uncontrollably.  She never had  one  and I was clueless on what to do.  Hay!  My poor baby.  She’s NOT ready yet for the limelight,  I guess…me too! (haha).

Nevertheless, I’m so proud of my Gaby (stage-mom pa rin noh!).

FAST FORWARD to FEB 2009:

Here’s the lay-out (yeah, I know, it took me forever to make this) of that one-time (never again?) modeling stint:

SUPERMODEL WANNABE?

P.S. Before the shooting began, KC Concepcion was being made-up in the dressing room for the cover shoot of either Marie Claire or Preview.  She was sweet and really pretty.  Wished we had guts to have a photo-op with her (jologs!).  But on the second thought, buti na lang hindi,  I’m sure they (her foreign photographer and her staff, that is) were bothered when Gaby started her tantrum.  Their studio room was just a curtain away from ours.

FIRST HOORAH IN 2009

Standard

One of my scrapbooking goals  this year is to finish at least 2 lay-outs a week but  with the rate I’m going now, I think I have to stick with my goal last year…”1 lay-out a week”.    With the latter goal, I still have to make 2 more to be right on track…haaay!

Anyways, here are some of them:

BLESSINGS

This is my “buena-mano” for this year.  Made this for my GDT stint at scrapbukan.com

This photo was taken  during last year’s Trick or Treat activity in our office.   My girls came as pink fairies.   Don’t they look pretty?

FAIRY PRETTY

Another set of photos during the same Trick or Treat activity.  My photographer-officemate took them.

The K&Co paper I used suited the photos perfectly!  For the title “pretty”,  I dabbed  the white velvet AC thickers  with MM pink acrylic paint and Ranger’s Diamond stickles to match the theme.

RELEASE ME, LET ME GO

A simple lay-out.  No special techniques here.  Just love how the photos convey the title (and vice versa).

Journalling:    Whenever you’re in your crib, you have this “pity” look and we can’t resist but to carry you out and release you…

BE HAPPY

Here’s happy baby Alexa.  These photos always put smile on my face every time I see them.  Used some October Afternoon pps and others  I can’t identify because they’re scraps from  my friends ;o)   Chopsuey ba?

2008 UNPOSTED LOs

Standard

Hi!  Here are my 2008 unposted (to my 2peas account) lay-outs.  I love all of them (of course!), hope you do too!

PRETTY AS A PRINCESS

Photos taken during Gaby’s pictorial for her 7th birthday party preps in 2007.  Loved the Prima paper and blings.  Covered the MR bird chipboard with the same Prima paper, can you see him?   And don’t you love those laces found in our local fabric stores?

SWEET SISTERS

Gaby is an ideal “Ate” and Alexa just so adores her.

Photos taken at Picture City (loved their ATC branch).  Cheap pictorial packages but I’m always happy with the results (less the frills, of course).

YOUR FACE

Used very old Basic Grey paper line.  Submitted it to BG Gallery months before and was surprised that it was accepted.

Journalling:  Your face always brings us sunshine!  -Alexa at 8 months-

BLESSED in ’05

Highlights in 2005.  Christmas Family photos are always taken during hubby’s family’s Christmas gathering on Christmas Eve.  Same spot, same Christmas tree, year in, year out!

HEART YOU

Used Scenic Route papers.  Some are from Pia’s scraps.  Thanks girl!

Journalling:  Those chinky-doe eyes, that rosy cheeks, that pugged nose, kissable lips, even that thin static hair…everything in you, we so adore!  We (heart) you, Alexa!

TURNING 5

Gaby had so much fun playing  hostess during her  “very brief” 5th birthday  party  in school.   We just served snacks during their recess,  she blew her candle after her classmates sang the birthday song and the teacher/s  just distributed the lootbags after the class.

These photos were taken from our good-old film-based camera (geez, how do we call them na nga ba?)

Would you believe that I still have rolls of films not yet developed?  * tsk tsk *

BE BRAVE…JUST BE YOU

I love how Alexa’s eyes “speak”  in this photo!

So glad I was able to use a very old Anna Griffin floral paper.

Will post my newest lay-outs soon.  Please do check them out later.

Have a great week!

Hello world!

Standard

Finally!  I’m joining the bandwagon.

I feel so pathetic when a friend commented that I’m the only one she knows who hasn’t gone blogging yet.

So here I am!

I’m so blog-challenged and my internet access is limited so I’ll dedicate this blog to my passion (and addiction) in scrapbooking.  I’ll try to post regularly and inspire (naks) you with my new lay-outs.  But in the meantime…

Welcome me!   Welcome world!
