Week 25: Their Beauty Within

Please indulge me for being a proud stage-mom and proclaim that my daughters are beautiful. But more than being pleasing to the eyes, we would want them to possess a charming personality and good common sense if not astute intellect. More importantly, a kind, warm and generous hearts so they radiate not only their physical beauty but their beautiful souls!

Journal: My daughters’ physical beauty is useless unless they radiate their inner beauty…may they always shine because they’re beautiful inside out!

Materials Used: Papers-DCWV CS, Prima, Love Elsie, Teresa Collins, Scrapworks. BG; Paint-Tim Holtz Crackle Paint; Flowers-Prima, local; Laces and Ribbons-Prima, local; Blings-MM, Prima & local; Metal-Scrapworks; Rubons-Prima, local brand; Chipboards-AC thickers, MM; Others-AL button, Whispers & Colorbox ink; 7 Gypsies sticker

This is my take for COLOR COMBOS GALORE #148 Challenge. Love love the colors, so girly girly! Please do check it out especially my friends’ take on the challenge. DT Ria, Janis and LG did a great job! I was truly inspired by their works!

Week 24: Hidden Talents

Current challenge at Scrap Yourself  is about our hidden talents.  I really had struggle on what to do with this challenge since I don’t have any hidden talents whatsoever. I wish I can juggle or form a loop out of a cherry stem using my tongue or dance ballet but all my so called “talents” are out in the open hahaha.

So since most of my relatives and friends are surprised to know that I actually cook (once in a while and when there’s no choice ;op) yummy dishes at that (ehem), I decided that it would be my “hidden'” talent.

Plus ironing clothes which a lot of people hate to do! I’m rather good at it, you know. My mother insisted that as an only daughter I have to do household chores during weekends even if we have a stay-in maid and yaya. Ironing clothes was one of my duties (that would be–washing the dishes, cleaning our home and cooking too) starting when I was 15 and up to the day I left home. I rarely do them now because of the household help I always get since I got married. Besides, I’m a self-confessed and (hubby) proclaimed UNDOMESTIC goddess (this explains the photo I used in my layout hahaha…very undomesticated!)

Journal:  People thought that I’m an UNDOMESTIC GODDESS through and through…they are surprised to know that I can cook “mean” and mouthwatering dishes and iron clothes perfectly!

Materials Used:  Paper-K&Co,  CI, SEI; Flowers-Prima, Heidi Swapp;  Chipboard-AC, Prima; Alphas-AC, Karen Foster; Others-local lace & fibers, AL buttons and brads, playing cards, Prima epoxy sticker & rub-on, Doodlebug paper ribbon, MM paint, Ranger stickles, Stampin Up script stamp, Versa stamp ink.

Please do check out Scrap Yourself  to see what the other girls have done!  You might be inspired to think about your hidden talents too and make a page about it!  Go!

Week 23: Happy Birthday…

…to my first love, my bestfriend, my critique, my mentor, my blessing, my love…happy 37th birthday to my one and only…Oliver.

(This is an old lay-out made in 2007 ;o)

May the good Lord bless you and our family with good health of mind, body and spirit;  financial blessings so you can continue to be a blessing to others; long fruitful life serving God through others; and happiness and joy as we walk with God revealing His ultimate plans for us.

Thank you and thank God for your gift of life!  I so look forward celebrating more birthdays with you!  I love you, tart!

Week 22: June Challenge at XOXO

June Challenge for XOXO is already up. All you have to do is scraplift any of the works of the lipstick chicks (design team). Easy as a pea, right? For this month, I made a cute layout using my favorite colors…pink, pastel blue and mint green.

Materials Used: Papers: Making Memories, Fancy Pants, October Afternoon, Prima; Chipboards-American Crafts, Basic Grey; Flowers-Prima, Webster’s Pages, local; Stickers-Prima, Making Memories & Stampin Up; Ribbons/Laces-Prima, Fancy Pants, Heidi Swapp; Metal Embellishments-Karen Foster, K&Co; Pearls & Blings-Chatterbox, Making Memories & local brand; Others-Doodlebug paper ribbon, Prima Stems & DCWV Rub-ons

It took me a while to let the title be, I so wanted it to be “It’s a Big World OUT THERE, Go Discover and EXPLORE!” But the limited space won’t let me. Notice the background of my page? I pasted my layout in a garage wall for me to have a great shot. It was like a corrugated board, right? Cool!

Come on, do join in the fun and get a chance to win an awesome Divine Design kit.   You have until June 30 to scraplift from us!

Week 21: “I love you, too”

Deciding to have a serious relationship with Oliver after 7 months of knowing each other (actually, it was 7 months of him PESTERING me hahaha) was the biggest and most important decision I made in my life todate. It took me that long to realize that “he’s the one!” because I know that once I give in, it would change my life…and yes, it’ll be a forever. We were engaged after 2 months of being an official couple, got married after a year and got pregnant a month after the wedding… and I never regret anything from then on…

Scrap Yourself challenge this week is about the most important/biggest decision in your life. It was hands down saying “I love you, too!” to my then most ardent, annoyingly persistent, most creative (in catching me) suitor, previously a blind date, now my husband, Oliver. I’m glad I found some photos taken when we were an engaged couple. They were perfect for this challenge!

(Hidden) Journal: It started with a blind date in February 1998. You courted me right after but it took 7 months for me to realize that “You’re the one!”. I knew it’ll change my life forever because we were engaged 2 months after I said…”I love you, too!”.

(Eww, so mushy, I know ;o)

Materials Used: Papers-Webster’s Pages, Scrapworks, BG; Journal Tags-k&Co, Fancy Pants, BG, Prima; Chipboard-Bazzill, American Crafts; Epoxy Sticker-Prima; Lace-Prima; Bling-Prima; Others-local pearl center, lace & flowers, MM paint and Ranger Stickles.

Do check out the interesting takes of the rest of the DT here! Hope you join in the fun too!
