Week 30: First Grade

Standard

Our eldest is now in 4th Grade and she has become more independent, thank God! (Both hubby and I really dread tutoring, we’re both full time working parents and tutoring has never become a bonding moment for us— but a quarrel match —more of me or the hubby shouting and her crying, yes, poor baby!)

We no longer check her assignments regularly and review her during mastery tests that come before the long periodical tests. With the latter, we just make mock tests for subjects we deemed need attention like Math and Science. For the rest, we trust her to study by herself and do good with the exams. We’re quite proud that she already has a study habit and she’s smart enough not to have failing grades hahaha talk about our mediocre standard! But we know she can excel and have high grades and be an honor student if we just have time to make her focus and be with her during her study time. Oh well, life is not all about grades anyway!

So after so much preamble, I just want to share with you the layout on her First Grade class picture I made a month ago having put into good use my old scrapbook stuff.

GRADE 1:

This makes me remember that I have a few more pages to do to complete her Pre-school album! *sigh*

And also makes me dread when Alexa goes to pre-school in a few months! *another sigh*

Week 28: Nicknames…

…the challenge for Scrap Yourself on the midweek of July. I have lots of nicknames from the time I was born, Maruth is my household name, Emma is my shortened name, sometimes Ruth for those who don’t know me, Nakleng for a sweeter version of “anak”, Emmapot if you want to tease me, Gorjus is what my bff and I call each other and Ems for most of my friends and my official nickname…yes, simply EMS.

I was inspired with Color Combos Galore’s palette #151….orange-y good!

Week 27: Papa P & Usher in!

Standard

We had a busy weekend on Week 27…

On Friday, July 9, we trooped down SM-MOA concert grounds 3 hours before showtime  to watch the much awaited concert of the heir apparent of Michael Jackson as the Prince of Pop (according to Hollywood)…OMG…Usher!  Very deserving title if ever!  Galing sobra!   There’s just a minor booboo when we didn’t know that it was already a sign to have an encore.  Hindi kasi sya nagpaalam so we thought he was just resting, yun pala he expected us to shout “more” when he was gone.    Kaya he was the one who asked “You want more?!” after 10 minutes.  Nyek! Anti-climactic indeed but the OMG rendition compensated it!

The next day was our company’s kick off where we revealed our latest endorser… (drum roll please) none other than the ultimate heartthrob of Philippine entertainment industry… Mr. Piolo Pascual, or Papa P as we (we daw oh!) call him.

The blurry photos I took were all not worth posting here so I grabbed the above photo instead from the net.  Pogi!  (even if his sexuality is questionable,  I still heart him! *swoon*)
