Last December 2010, Oliver and I celebrated our 11 years of blissful togetherness. Between the two of us, Oliver is, I think (ayaw pa umamin noh! ;o), the more romantic and creative one (if in the mood, of course…ayaw ko pa rin bumigay hahaha). I was not surprised when he was planning a special celebration with our BSG family and our parents…our renewal of vows. It was the greatest plan I had during our 10th wedding anniversary which did not materialize. A year of waiting is worth it though!
I still haven’t received the official photos so I’ll just record it using our Christmas photo here:
Journalling (hidden inside the kraft envelope): Our renewal vows…
Oliver’s vow to me:
With the Grace of God I proclaim my everlasting love for you.
With fellow believers as my witnesses on earth, I declare that I will journey with you and no one else in the fulfillment of a mission to praise, worship, and glorify our Creator.
With the Holy Spirit, I crave for nothing else apart from growing with you in faith, love, and hope.
With joy in my heart, I vow to love and protect you and our children against the forces of evil, and against evil desires that corrupt the soul and poison the spirit.
Emma, I cherish every moment we have so far spent together and I look forward to more moments to spend and to cherish with you.
I am fully indebted to our Lord for all of these, even as I already feel grateful for the best that are yet to come!
Love, lots of it!
My vow to Oliver:
11 years ago I made a vow to take you as my better half, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. Now, I am making the same vows because the decision I made 11 years ago remain the same but now with a deeper understanding and stronger conviction…I cherish and love you, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, til death do us part.
We have gone through a lot and we have overcome them, never ever thinking of letting one go. Thanks to God’s divine help and support of our loved ones too. I know and I’m more confident that whatever life throws us again and again, we will remain strong and victorious because we now allow God to guide us every step of the way.
Thank you for being close to Him because I can clearly see that when man is in God, everything else follows. Thank you for being kind, generous, thoughtful, indulgent, funny, moody, crazy husband and bestfriend that you are. Thank you for being the best and loving father to Gaby and Alexa. Thank you for being you. Thank God for the gift of you. I fervently pray that He will bless us with more decades of togetherness, growing old and growing in faith TOGETHER.
