PRIMA Heaven!

PRIMA Heaven!

God is so good!  I was again featured in the blog of one of the most famous scrapbooking brands,  Prima, this time  with my September BAP (Build-A-Page) take.

Here’s my take on the sketch:

YOU and I:

Journal (hidden at the back of the picture using Prima packaging):

You and I will go to places, experience exciting things, meet new friends and be friends forever!  I will be with you, Alexa and will hold your hand every step of the way! Love you!     - Gaby -

Materials Used:  All PRIMA except for rub-ons (local), alpha sticker (‘and’), pearl flower center, red flowery lace and MS puncher.

There are so many amazing takes of this sketch.  Take a look here.

Being featured is a feat in itself but luck is on my side this time because I won in the Sept PPP post!  Yahoo!  See the Prima Pick at my sidebar?  That’s how one joins in the fun (aside from making people drool with their new products and colors every month, that is! hahaha)

I’m such a happy camper!  Thanks Prima!

XOXO Challenge #22 (October 2011 Challenge) for us lipstick chicks  is to create a lay-out with INSTAGR.AM as an inspiration.  Here’s a layout I made for my friend Arlene using her photos edited ala-instagr.am and using the muted colors:

CRUISING:

Materials Used: Papers-Crate Paper PP, DCWV CS; Chipboard-K&Co; Flowers-Prima; Stickers-BG; Others- mist, MS puncher, buttons, rub-ons & floss.

Please do join in the challenge…create a lay-out inspired by the word INSTGR.AM (or Hipstamatic if you may) – - -be it the application itself or the colors it conveys OR scraplift any of the lipstick chicks’ creation you can find here.   The winner will have the privilege to be our guest designer for November.  Please do visit our blog to know more of the mechanics.

Also, please do watch out for XOXO blog hop happening very soon!  It’ll be an exciting one with great RAKs to be given away!

Have a happy week everyone!

Scraplift!

Scraplift!

There was an exciting challenge that happened in our local scrapbook group weeks ago that was so stressful but super fun ;o)  It was a chain-scraplift (or round robin as others would call it) wherein scrapbookers would group together and decide on the sequence or order of each scrapper.  A  lay-out will be passed to a person which she would scaplift.   Each scrapper is given, at most, 3-days to finish the lay-out.  After she’s done, she would pass her finished lay-out (passing of  the original layout is a no-no)  to the next in line.   It was doubly stressful and fun because we were divided into 2 groups (of 15 ladies each), whoever finishes first would win!  I was the 13th (lucky number, yeah!)  and got to scraplift the page done by no other than the “master” (as we fondly call her), the Iris Babao-Uy

This was my finished layout, using my friend’s (Arlene’s) photos with her 3rd child.

MY BOY:

Materials Used:  Crate paper, K& Co and WeRM keepers.

To make it easy for me and finish faster that my usual pace, I just copy the entire look of Iris’ page—placement of the papers and most of the embellishments.  You can see her take here.

We were leading  but the other group was so aggressive and competitive (as in, finishing their page in the wee hours), they were able to catch up and win by just a few hours!   Boo-hoo!  Anyways, it was still fun and fulfilling!  Can’t wait to have another round!

September XOXO Challenge

September XOXO Challenge

It’s the start of the month and we have another challenge over at XOXO.   The lipstick chicks are asked to create a layout inspired by our blog or our favorite blog.  I was so inspired with the new look of my blog, so this is what I did:

 FULL OF JOY:

The new look of my blog is such a vibrant, colorful and happy one, just like my Alexa.  Look at her smile.  So full of positivity.  May she continue to be full of joy, bringing a little ray of sunshine to everyone.

Do visit XOXO to check the other chicks’ work of art.  Hope you’ll be inspired to scraplift any of our creations and join in this month’s challenge.

XOXO

To love…

To love…

…that’s our purpose in life.   As the Lord Jesus Christ  said  ”Love one another as I have loved you!”  (Luke 13:34 ).   And to whom and from whom do we give and  get love first?…our FAMLY, of course!

Here’s a Valentine layout for the love of my life, my family!

Now, continue to spread the love…love…love!

Week 43: Soar

Week 43: Soar

I dread the day when it’s time to let my kids spread their wings and fly. I know I have to. One day. But for now, I will just let them dream big dreams.

May they have the courage and determination to pursue and fulfill them…and may God grant us (their parents) strength and wisdom to know when to still hold on and when to let go and let them soar…

SOAR:

Journal: Dream big dreams…Be brave and fly…Soar (title)

Week 25: Their Beauty Within

Please indulge me for being a proud stage-mom and proclaim that my daughters are beautiful. More importantly, a kind, warm and generous hearts so they radiate not only their physical beauty but their beautiful souls!

THEIR BEAUTY WITHIN:

Journal: My daughters’ physical beauty is useless unless they radiate their inner beauty…may they always shine because they’re beautiful inside out!

Week 17: Sisters…

Week 17: Sisters…

Whether my girls like it or not, they have each other to love and torture, err, nurture!

Seriously, I’m glad I have two kids. It lessens my worries as a Mom since I know they have each other to turn to when the going gets rough and tough. Even if Alexa gets into Gaby’s nerves sometimes, the latter can’t help but forgive and forget after a minute or two. On the other hand, Alexa hero-worships her “Ate”. I’m confident that they will take care of each other until they’re old and grey.

Here’s another layout that shows how they adore each other. I used a sketch especially made for My Scrapbook Nook at Creative Scrappers. Since we celebrated Earth Day, I thought of using mostly green in this layout (a color which I seldom use, by the way.)
